New User of F900 - can you help me??????

Hello everybody..........
I hope this is the right site for the Acer f900 smartphone

Please bear with me - I am a complete newbee to allthis and I have only had my Acer F900 phone for a few days

I know about computers (and Microsoft) and I still bought a phone with Window 6.1 on it ......
I know its a risk given the performance of MS over all but basically bought the phone for four reasons:

Good video and Sound performance
Good WIFI and web browsing
Good GPS to get Sat Nav
Loads of software will be written for the Windows Operating system


...............
oh and its a phone as well!




Have piles of questions, but will try to work through the obvious ones myself (the help from Both Microsoft and Acer seems rubbish!) left a question on Acer web site 3 days ago and nothing has happened

Anyway enough of the moaning I am happy with the phone up to now, but reading this and other message boards I can see that I have loads to learn, and it all seems a different world to me........
so I hope you will bear with me if I ask silly or obvious questions......

The first thing I note is about upgrades ......
looked on the Acer site and it seems I have the latest ROM at 2.001.00_EN (the phone was only made [in china] in October 2009) but what about Windows it seems I am out of date - Why didn't Acer put Windows 6.5 on a brand new phone that has just come into the UK last week?????

What can I do ......
reading the board it seems a bit dodgy to say the least for the box does not have a Windows CD (thought it did but it seems just help) ....
will Acer be issuing an upgrade does anyone know?




My next problem is that I have downloaded some software and java software from the web but dont know how to install it on the mobile....
got the thing syncing with the USB cable OK and downloaded my music etc but just baffled as to hwo to insall software.......
cant find anywhere to do it ......
Help!!!!
(this file have extensions like JAR, SWF, MSI, CAB and runnable EXE)


Dont know what to do......
I can download onto the F900 but I cant just doble click on the Files (like EXE) to run .......lost

I also note that the phone only has 128MB of RAM computers have Gigabytes! is this enough?

Whats the best Sat Nav software to use?

Can I convert the Mini USB output port to a 3.5mm socket type for general headphones....
sent off for two adaptors but the wont go into the phone port so looks like have wasted the money......
any ideas anyone???????

Another problem I have is if I go to put the phone in my pocket.....
cant see a way of freezing the screen and am ringing the mother in law every time - the only way seems to be to put a pass code in but then that becomes a pest, or to wait for a lonf time until it goes into sleep mode

If I put a pass key on to protect the phone on startup ...
after the green windows thing finishes it seems to take ages before I can put the password in it wont accept any typing....

Anyway I wont bore you with any more but any help would be much appreciated
