LG E500 Screen split in 6..Please help

Heya gang,
I'm hoping that someone here with some PC knowledge can please be kind enough to help me, I'm desperate.
My Wife's Laptop has suddenly had a big issue with the screen.
On startup the screen splits into 6, and asks for a repair.
I am pretty new to all of this caper, and am trying to save myself from a divorce and our kids from a berating they will never forget...(The good wife has blamed them for doing something ;stupid; on her laptop whilst she was at work).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
