LG S510 webcam not working (it probably never did)

I have a LG S510 for a long time, but I never did use the webcam.
Also because I mostly use linux.

But I decided to see if I could get it to work and the webcam device is simply not listed nor in linux, neither in windows vista device manager.
I downloaded and installed the Cyberlink YOUcam program from the LG driver/support page, and when I run the program it doesn't detect any webcam.

Is it hardware broken from the beginning? Or am I missing any driver/bios update?
