GX740 Graphics Card/Cooling/Fan and stuff

Isn't this supposed to be a dedicated card? It doesn't look like that in a couple pics that I've seen (I don't wanna open it :P) Can somebody direct me to technical images with labels of what's what?

Also, I am not understanding how the fan works.
Both big vents on the back and the right side are exhaust? And the inlet is the tiny grid at the bottom? Is that correct?

It seems that whether I plug in my USB cooling pad or not makes no difference in the GPU temperature.
May be I am disrupting the airflow.
Am I better off not using a cooling pad?
